NOTE – The Nursery (room 101) will be open every Sunday for infants and children under 2 years of age.  Volunteers are needed for this area.  Please see Sisters LaWanza Spears or Cindy Douglas.

MISSION STATEMENT OF SUNDAY CHURCH SCHOOL

The mission statement of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Sunday Church school is based upon scriptural references found in Deuteronomy 31:12-13.  It reads as such, “Gather the people together, men and women and little ones, and the stranger who is within your gates, that they may hear and that they may learn to fear the Lord your God and carefully observe all the words of this law, and that their children, who have not known it, may hear and learn to fear the Lord your God as long as you live in the land which you crossed the Jordan to possess”  (NKJV).

Reading, memorizing, and meditating upon the word of God are of no value without obedience to the Word of God.  To obey the Word of God, you do what the Word of God indicates should be done in any situation.  Obedience to the Word of God is the only way that the child of God can be pleasing to God in the new life.  Obedience to God's Word results in:

Discipleship and making disciples	Guidance for life	Promise of God's presence
Prayer	Safety and freedom from anxiety	Abiding in the love of God
Being treasured by God	Eternal life	Assurance of salvation
A Christ-centered life	God's blessing	Life changing
Witnessing	Greatness in the kingdom of heaven	Fellowship
Bible Study	Fruit bearing	Entrance into heaven
Avoidance of evil	Manifesting love for God	Ministering to others

This is what our Pastor, Christian Education Director, and your Sunday Church School Superintendent desire for all the men, women, children, and the strangers who are within our gates, streets, communities, and the surrounding metropolitan area  - Obedience that CHANGES LIVES!
